Hosting the National Association of Military Marching Bands Marching Contest in Merrill Green Stadium this Saturday, November 3. The first band steps off at 2:15 PM and following an afternoon of military style pageantry the TAMU Fightin’ Aggie Band will march in exhibition at 7:30 PM. Admission is $3.00 at the gate.

Rudder FFA members Stephanie Williams and Kacie Woods placed 6th in the nation at the recent FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Their agriscience project previously won first place at the state level, which qualified them for the pre-screening process at the National Agriscience Fair level. Only the top 15 projects were selected for consideration.

The Rudder FFA welding team took top honors as the 1st Place School in the Harris County Youth Expo Welding and Cutting contests on Oct. 19. Gaven Schultz placed first in Advanced Welding; Garret Marchant placed second in Advanced Welding and Cody White placed third in Advanced Welding, giving the team a clean sweep. Schultz also placed 4th in a field of 187 competitors in the “Fastest Torch in the West” contest.

Stephen F. Austin Middle School received a $500 grant from Texas Archery in Schools Program for our archery club. They are seeking the remaining $1000 for capital outlay funds to purchase equipment.
