Much of College Station was without power Thursday afternoon.
Timothy Crabb at College Station Utilities says a transformer went out at the Post Oak substation about 3 p.m. That took out two more substations, creating an outage bordered by University, Rock Prairie, and the freeway.
Crabb says while one transformer went out there is enough capacity to take care of customer needs in College Station.
The outage, which lasted for some until 4:30, included a momentary power flicker in Bryan.
Update at 4:30 p.m. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. College Station Utilities (CSU) reported all power was restored. The outage was reported around 3 p.m.
CSU is still investigating the cause of the outage.
Timothy Crabb visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
