CS Council Could Act Thursday on Route of Lick Creek Trail

Thursday’s College Station City Council meeting includes possible action to proceed with where to build the $4.4 million dollar Lick Creek hike and bike trail.

No opposition has been raised on two of the three proposed segments

But since April, the council has heard the dispute among members of the SpringBrook Homeowners Association about where to place the third leg.

More than two months after the council asked HOA members to work out their differences, there’s been no internal resolution.

That has led city staff to ask the council to place the SpringBrook section along HOA streets. That goes against the majority vote of HOA members who offered to donate land along the creekbed. The on-street option is desired by homeowners whose backyards are adjacent to the creek.
