Brazos County Has The Fourth Largest Number Of 4-H Members In Texas

Brazos County has the fourth largest number of 4-H members in Texas. County commissioners learned that information during Tuesday’s meeting (October 8) as part of the annual recognition of national 4-H week. Brazos County 4-H agent Matt Pfiefer said Brazos County has 724 4-H members. Nine members of the Brazos County 4-H council introduced themselves to commissioners after a proclamation was presented to the group. Two other members are at the state fair this week representing the state 4-H council. Brazos County Bridge Repair Project Is Completed Ahead Of Schedule

Motorists no longer have to deal with using an unpaved Brazos County road to get around bridge repairs east of Kurten. County commissioner Chuck Konderla announced during Tuesday’s meeting (October 8) that Oak Lake Road reopened 30 days ahead of schedule. While Democrat Road was used as the detour, Konderla said county crews graded the unpaved road four times. Konderla also repeated efforts to eventually widen and pave Democrat Road, which was the detour during bridge repairs. Arrests Of One Man For Driving With An Invalid License With Multiple Convictions And Another Man Arrested For Violating Probation From A 2018 Assault

A Bryan man convicted three times of driving with an invalid license (DWLI) and is awaiting trials in two more DWLI cases is arrested again on that charge. 30 year old Stephan Ellis was also arrested by Bryan police for evading and fleeing. The October 8th arrest was the result of a patrol officer seeing no front license plate on Ellis’s car. The BPD arrest report says Ellis’s prior DWLI convictions were in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Online court records show he is awaiting trials for DWLI that took place in March and August of 2024. Online court records also show he is accused of violating probation for a misdemeanor family violence assault causing bodily injury that took place in 2022. Online jail records show Ellis was released after posting bonds totaling $8,000 dollars from his fourth booking since June 2024 and his 19th booking since October 2012. A College Station man is in jail following his arrest on a charge of violating probation. The College Station police arrest report also says 40 year old Andrew Williamson resisted and attempted to head butt one of three officers who were attempting to place him in custody. Court records say Williamson is accused of violating probation from a felony family violence assault that took place in November 2018. Williamson remains jailed as of October 10 in lieu of bonds totaling $32,000 dollars.
