A Texas A&M University student is accused of crimes involving the athletic department, the 12th Man Student Foundation, and the mother of his girlfriend.
University Police Lt. Allan Baron says 24 year old Christopher Thompson of Rowlett was initially arrested for using a coaches credit card while he was a student worker on the men’s basketball team.
Baron says when Thompson was in jail being booked, he had several checks in his wallet belonging to his girlfriend’s mother. That led investigators to the girlfriend’s house and the discovery of copies of ten foundation membership forms.
Thompson was identified as the president of the 12th Man Student Foundation, and the forms were from a benefit he attended.
The President of the 12th Man Foundation, Miles Marks, says the student foundation has ended the use of paper forms. Marks says the affected students were given access to an identity protection service at the foundation’s expense and were advised to cancel their credit cards.
Allan Baron visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
