A Bryan man is headed to prison for 45 years after selling cocaine to undercover officers in a drug free zone two and a half years ago.
It took a Brazos County District Court jury 27 minutes this week to convict 35 year old Torrick McMurray, then another two hours to recommend the punishment.
Prosecutors had sought 50 years, the defense asked for 10 to 20 years, and the maximum sentence was life.
McMurray was convicted of making the January 2010 drug deal across the street from the Bulldogs and Butterflies child care center in north College Station.
