CS School Board Officially Pays Employees Caught In Power Outage

The  April 4 power outage at Consolidated High School, which cancelled classes for a day, resulted in addressing two issues to the Texas Education Agency.

At this week’s CSISD Board of Trustees meeting, a resolution was passed so employees could officially be paid for that day.

Deputy Superintendent Glynn Walker says the Texas Education Code requires the resolution.

Walker says the district pre-paid employees so there was no interruption in their paychecks.

Last month, the board asked and the state approved a waiver not requiring a make-up day due to the outage.

Glynn Walker visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
