17 Post Offices With 778 Zip Codes Reducing Hours Instead of Closing

17 post offices in the Brazos Valley with a 778 zip code are among more than 13,000 nationwide proposed to remain open on a part-time basis instead of being closed.

Between now and September, the postal service plans to visit affected communities to review the latest plan to maintain some level of service.

The postal service has offered 21,000 postmasters a $20,000 cash incentive for early retirement. Click HERE for more information from the National League of Postmasters.

The American Postal Workers Union website released a statement on Wednesday’s announcement.

The National Association of Letter Carriers website had no comment.
