Texan Killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Two soldiers, one of them from north Texas, have died of wounds from an insurgent attack in Afghanistan.

A Defense Department statement issued Thursday identifies the dead soldiers as 19-year-old Army Spc. Keenan A. Cooper of Wahpeton, N.D., and 20-year-old Spc. Jerod H. Osborne of Royse City, Texas.

According to the statement, they died Monday in Yakuta, Afghanistan, after their unit was attacked with an improvised bomb.

They were assigned to the 4th Squadron, 73rd Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
