Women Survive Harrowing Houston Carjacking

HOUSTON (AP) _ Authorities say a carjacking suspect crashed into several parked cars in Houston after sexually assaulting the two women whose vehicle he is accused of stealing during a four-hour ordeal.

Harris County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Christina Garza says the suspect jumped into the women’s convertible at 2:30 a.m. Monday while they were at fast food restaurant drive-through.

Garza says after the suspect sexually assaulted the women, they ended up at the apartment complex where the brother of one of the women lives.

Garza says the suspect drove off after the brother shot at him. Both women were able to escape.

The suspect crashed into a group of parked cars after a police chase. The man, whose name has not been released, is in fair condition at a Houston hospital.
