Bryan Council Gives Preliminary Approval To Mobile Home Park Makeover

Approaching it’s 40th anniversary, a major facelift is underway at a Bryan mobile home park.

The city council at its last meeting gave preliminary approval to rezoning allowing the new owner of Finfeather Acres to add recreational vehicles and mini-storage units.

The attorney representing Finfeather Acres, Chris Peterson, says the improvements includes $45,000 dollars for plumbing and electrical.

The RV’s will park in spaces designed in 1973 for mobile homes but are now too small. Peterson says they’re looking to attract RV owners who’ll drive in for Aggie football weekends.

Mayor Pro-Tem Ann Horton addressed opposition from homeowners living south and west of the park who don’t want increased traffic and are after a taller fence surrounding the development.

The council was told brush and debris have been removed and a video surveillance system is being installed. That’s among a dozen improvements associated with the rezoning request.

Owner Josh Lorden says the park, to be renamed “Teserra”, is targeted for reopening by March 21st.
