First Candidate Announcement For The 2026 Election Involves The Congressional Seat Representing Brazos County

The first candidate announcement for the 2026 election in Brazos County is someone running for Congress. Republican Philip Suarez tells WTAW News he is operating his campaign for the 10th congressional district out of Brenham. But Suarez lives in Cypress, which is about 13 miles outside the district. Suarez says his home was in the district before boundaries were changed after the last census. While there is no requirement to live inside the district, Suarez says regardless of how the election comes out he will likely move near family in Brenham in the next two to three years. Michael McCaul, who represents the 10th district, did not have a primary opponent in 2024. The 10th district also includes Burleson, Grimes, Madison, and Washington counties. 20 Year Old Bryan Man’s 15th Trip To Jail In 18 Months

A 20 year old Bryan man is booked in the Brazos County jail for the 15th time since April of 2023. Two hours into the new year, a College Station police officer in the Northgate district served a Bryan police arrest warrant on Frederick Hall III for failing to pay a fine for parking in a handicapped area. Hall was also charged with underage possession of a nicotine vaping device with a prior conviction. Online records shows Hall was released from jail later on New Year’s Day after paying fines totaling $1,097.20. He was also released on his promise to appear in College Station municipal court on the charge of underage possession charge. According to online Brazos County district court records, Hall is awaiting four trials on misdemeanor charges of driving with an invalid license, two trials on misdemeanor charges of failing to identify himself, and one trial on a misdemeanor charge of not having vehicle insurance. All seven cases stem from arrests made between April and November of 2024.
