A man accused of trying to kill his former girlfriend’s dogs with tainted meat turned himself in Monday.

Ronald Kimball of Conroe, and previously of Bryan, was released from the Brazos County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond on three charges of animal cruelty.

A Bryan woman and the Brazos County district attorney’s office reach a plea agreement on four felony and two misdemeanor criminal cases that took place between October of 2017 and April of 2023. 39 year old Ernestine Williams will serve two years for felony robbery and felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that took place in August 2021. That punishment also covers guilty pleas in a misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury in April 2023 and felony drug cases that took place in October and December of 2017. Online court records also show Williams pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving with an invalid license in November 2021 where prosecution was barred. While the pleas were made August 1st, Williams remained out of jail on bond until Thursday (September 5th), where online jail records show she was booked for the 23rd time since January of 2002.

College Station ISD school board members received some positive budget news. The board at its August regular meeting approved recommendations from CSISD’s new chief financial officer, Heather Wilson that reduces the cost of property and casualty insurance by $302,877 dollars. That represents a 10.5 percent decrease from the year before. That is compared with a 39.9 percent increase in the prior year. Wilson credited the lower rate to receiving 61 proposals to insure the district’s assets that totals more than $626 million dollars.
