Construction starts soon on what will become a major street in College Station. The city council has approved a $1.8 eight million dollar extension of Victoria Avenue from the new College Station High School to W.D. Fitch Parkway. The three lane road will include a center turn lane, bike lanes, and sidewalks. The low bid that was awarded is $522,000 dollars under budget. Construction starts by mid-September with completion expected by next July.

College Station is also adding two sets of traffic signals. The council approved over $400,000 dollars of manpower and equipment for signals at George Bush East and Dominik and Texas and Krenek Tap Road. Completion is expected by the end of November.
