Gary Blair will take his hacks tonight

Tonight’s Bombers Game at the Brazos Valley Bank BallPark may just worth the price of admission just to watch one specific at bat…. By a 65 year-old man…. No it won’t be ceremonial it will be an official at-bat in the texas Collegiate League when A&M basketball coach Gary Blair steps in against the pitcher from the Acadiana Cane Cutters tonight.

The Bombers are honoring the NCAA Champion Aggie women’s basketball team in the opener of the two-game weekend series with the Cane Cutters and as part of the tip of the cap, the Bombers will enter Blair as a designated hitter during the game and let him take his swings at a collegiate fastball.

It’s not totally unfamiliar territory to Blair. He was All City at Bryan-Adams High School in Dallas and played one season of baseball at Texas Tech in the early 70’s.

The first 200 fans tonight will get a Gary Blair Bobble Head Doll.

By the way the Bombers will be going for their fourth straight last night in Alexandra with a 15-6 romp over the Aces.
