Bryan Council Delays Care Facility Vote

Residential personal care facilities that house anywhere from one to three people took center stage at the Bryan City Council meeting Tuesday night.

Click to hear the story from WTAW’s Chris Clift:

Facilities that operate with four or more residents can not be regulated by a city, because at that level they become subject to state rules and inspections.

Rose Rodriguez is the owner of the Rose Home in Bryan, a facility that is capable of providing services for one to three residents at a time.

She says her business is not attempting to get around being regulated by the state.

The Rose Home is currently operating in violation of Bryan codes, and they are asking for a change that would allow them to stay in business at their current location in a residential neighborhood.

Council held a public hearing on the matter
