North Texas Trailer Fire Ruled Accidental

GRANBURY, Texas (AP) _ A fire marshal says a mobile home fire that left six people dead in a North Texas lakeside community appears to have started accidentally and no charges will be filed.

The Hood County Fire Marshal’s Office released its final report Tuesday on the blaze that broke out in Granbury after a teen’s birthday party in March. Six people ages 16 to 30 were killed, all from the Fort Worth area. Three others were injured.

Fire Marshal Brian Fine’s report says the fire started in the master bedroom, caused by a cigarette or a faulty lamp.

Friends say the victims had fallen asleep after the party. The report also says the victims tested positive for carbon monoxide and several for alcohol and some drugs, any of which may have incapacitated them.
