One of our Bryan Broadcasting employees has a project due for a music appreciation class that includes a presentation on the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, so we decided to post that information here for those interested in learning more about the group.
Click to hear WTAW’s Lauren Raisor talk with BVSO Executive Director Larry Bird:
The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1981 when the smaller Bryan and College Station symphonies merged.
They host 8 to 9 events per season, with attendance anywhere from a few hundred to nearly 14,000 at their July 4th event.
The group has an annual budget of just over $400,000, which is provided by fundraisers and donations.
