Trooper Shot While Serving Warrant in Dallas

DALLAS (AP) _ A Texas state trooper was shot while helping FBI agents serve a federal warrant at an apartment in southern Dallas.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. Monday at the Oakland Apartments near the intersection of South Lancaster near Texas 342 and Loop 12, across from the Dallas Veterans Affairs hospital.

Cpl. Robert White of the Texas Department of Public Safety office in Garland says the trooper was providing backup to the FBI agents when the gunshots rang out.

White says he had no information on the trooper’s condition, other than that he appeared conscious just before he was taken to Baylor University Medical Center. He had no other information on the incident. The FBI didn’t return a message left at its Dallas office for comment.
