Bryan Fire Department Is Adding Six Firefighters
The Bryan fire department is adding firefighters. The Bryan city council without public discussion at this month’s meeting (December 10), approved the fire chief’s request to add six firefighters to reduce overtime associated with the department’s mobile healthcare program. Expenses for the first two years will be paid by a federal grant. The paperwork associated with the council’s approval does not show the amount of the grant. After 2027, the council will either decide to find local money to pay the personnel costs or eliminate the additional positions. BFD’s mobile healthcare program reduces the number of responses to medical calls using ambulances and fire engines. Click HERE to read and download background information from the city of Bryan.
