Jury Selected in Capital Murder Trial

Artis Pollard

Two days before Christmas in 2006, two men were shot, one fatally, inside a home northwest of Bryan.

An arrest was made last year, and on Monday a jury was selected in the capital murder trial of 27 year old Artis Pollard of Brenham.

Pollard is accused of firing four shots and killing Terrell McCoy. This was inside a home near the junction of highways 21 and 47 in the Smetana area near Bryan.

Pollard wasn’t arrested until after DNA evidence matched his blood from the shooting to kitchen utensils he was using in the Washington County jail.

Opening statements are scheduled to start Tuesday morning at 9 before the jury and District Judge J.D. Langley.
