The College Station City Council’s first order of business Thursday evening was hiring a City Manager and City Attorney.
The new City Manager is David Neeley. He came to College Station in 2008 as Assistant City Manager and since January 31 served in an interim capacity. Neeley was previously City Manager in Sugar Land and in Plano worked in the utilities and public works departments. Before coming to College Station he was the principal of a consulting company. Neeley was chosen from a field of nearly 60 whose applications were reviewed by city staff without the involvement of an outside search firm. His base salary is $165,000.
The new City Attorney is Carla Robinson. She has served as Interim City Attorney since last October. Robinson has 13 years with the city over two periods of employment. The first stint was 1996 to 1999. She returned in 2001. No search process was conducted. Robinson’s base salary is $137,500.
