BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M’s Adela Cernousek announced her plans to turn professional Monday morning, forgoing the remainder of her historic collegiate career.
Cernousek will take part in the final qualifying round of the 2024 LPGA Q-Series Dec. 5-9 at Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Alabama. The Aggie legend earned full 2025 Epson Tour status at the qualifying stage by winning the event with a 14-under 274 and needed to denounce her amateur status in order to participate in the final stage to compete for her 2025 LPGA Tour Card.
Cernousek made history last season, winning the 2024 NCAA Individual Title by three strokes with a score of 12-under 276. She also became the first Aggie women’s golfer to break the 71.00 stroke average mark for a season, recording a 69.94 on the year with a school record 31 rounds of par-or-better.
The Antibes, France, native was a pivotal fixture during the most successful run in program history under head coach Gerrod Chadwell with three NCAA match play appearances, two semifinal berths and the 2023 SEC Championship.
Cernousek recorded a perfect 3-0 NCAA match play record and was a consensus 2024 First Team All-American. Cernousek concludes her Aggie career with the second lowest career stroke average (71.79) by an A&M golfer.
Cernousek ended her amateur career as the No. 10 ranked golfer on the World Amateur Golf Ranking and reached as high as No. 7 during her career.
Also participating in the final stage of the LPGA Q-Series with Cernousek are Aggie greats Maddie Szeryk (2015-18), Hailee Cooper (2021-23) and Blanca Fernández García-Poggio (2020-24).

“First and foremost, I have been very blessed to represent Texas A&M University the last 3.5 years and I am thankful that God brought me to Aggieland. I would like to thank everyone that was a part of my journey. My time here has shaped me in ways I could have never imagined, and I will carry these lessons for the rest of my life. To G, Gio, and Austin, your everyday belief, patience, and support made me the player and the person I am today. I would also like to thank the support staff that helped me along the way behind the scenes for all the work they did during my time at Texas A&M and Allison and Ryan for their guidance these last several months. To the 12th Man, thank you for your unwavering support. Your spirit and commitment made competing that much more special. Thank you for being the best fans ever. To my teammates, thank you for your continuous encouragement and love. It has been an honor playing with all of you. You are more than teammates; you are my best friends for life, and I will forever cherish the memories we made together. Lastly, the biggest thank you to my family for always standing with me in whatever decisions I chose. I am beyond grateful to be surrounded by so many special people. My life is changed forever. Growing up in France, I could have never imagined any of this but after so many years of hard work I am excited to announce that I am turning professional and chasing my dream of playing on the LPGA Tour.
