News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV was named to the 2025 NABC Division I Player of the Year preseason watch list, the organization announced.
Taylor, a graduate from Dallas, Texas, was a preseason first-team All-SEC selection and was recently announced as a member of the preseason watch list for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. Additionally, Taylor was named to the third-team All-America team by CBSSports.com.
On his way to first-team All-SEC and NABC All-District honors last season, the do-it-all Taylor was the conference’s No. 3 scorer with 687 points while ranking in the top 10 in assists, steals, 3-pointers, free throws and FT percentage and minutes played.
Taylor IV is the lone DI player to log 500+ points, 100+ assists and 60+ steals the past two seasons.
The 2025 NABC Division I Player of the Year – selected by a nationwide vote of Division I head coaches – will be announced the week of the 2025 Men’s Final Four. Former Purdue standout Zach Edey won the award each of the last two seasons, becoming the first repeat winner since Duke’s Jason Williams in 2001 and 2002.
