A Bryan man is arrested for domestic violence related aggravated assault with a deadly weapon…with the weapon being his pickup truck. The Bryan police arrest report says last Thursday night
(October 3), 35 year old Luis Mata drove his full size truck into his wife’s compact car near the intersection of Turkey Creek and Finfeather Roads. The arrest report says the injuries the victim received were before the collision, where Mata is accused of punching and violently grabbing her. Mata was also charged with interfering with officers by refusing to stop talking while officers were trying to get the victim’s statement. Mata is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $32,000 dollars.
A Bryan woman in jail since June 19th on a charge of assaulting an EMS employee is now accused of grabbing the throat of a detention officer and applying pressure. The arrest report from the Brazos County sheriff’s office from Monday’s incident says after a supervisor and other officers placed the inmate in handcuffs, the inmate struck, scratched, and attempted to bite multiple officers. Online court records shows 34 year old Charlene Jones is awaiting trials in the June assault and charges from a May 12th incident involving felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor obstruction of a highway. Jones is held on bonds totaling $16,000 dollars.
