Texas A&M Women’s Tennis Announces Fall Schedule

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN COLLEGE-STATION – Texas A&M women’s tennis head coach Mark Weaver announced the Aggies 2024 fall schedule Friday, highlighted by seven tournaments and the NCAA Individual Championships.

The Aggies finished last season as the No. 1 ranked team in the country and begin their fall campaign Sept. 21-29 in North Carolina for the ITA All-American Championships. A&M then moves to Fort Worth for the ITA Regionals (Oct. 10-14) followed by the Conference Masters Championship, which will take place in San Diego from Nov. 7-10, while the ITA Sectional Championships will be held in Ann Arbor, Mich. from Nov. 7-10.

ITA All-American Championships

The ITA All-American Championships is a national event with 10 singles players and four doubles teams qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

ITA Regional Championships

There are 13 ITA Regions. Two singles finalists from each region will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, while the doubles champion from each region will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.

ITA Conference Masters

Each NCAA AQ-Eligible Division I conference will designate one singles player and one doubles team to compete in the ITA Conference Masters. Four players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.

ITA Sectional Championships

ITA member institutions will be assigned to one of four ITA sections. Players who have yet to earn entry into the NCAA Championships but have made deep runs in the ITA All-American or ITA Regional Championships will be eligible to participate. Six singles players and three doubles teams from each section will qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The Maroon & White will also be competing in three invitationals during the fall. A&M will head to Waco for the H.E.B Invitational Sept. 20-22. The TCU Invitational will be held from Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Fort Worth, and the Aggies will host the Texas A&M Fall invitational at the Mitchell Tennis Center Nov. 8-10.

To end the fall campaign, individuals who qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships compete in Waco Nov. 19-24. The tournament, normally a spring event, is taking place in the fall as part of a two-year pilot program approved by the NCAA Division I Oversight Committee. Last season, No. 1 Mary Stoiana made it to the semifinals in the singles portion of the tournament, and her and Mia Kupres reached the final eight teams in doubles.
