News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
COLUMBUS, Ga. – Aggie golfer Adela Cernousek was named to the Fall ANNIKA Award Watch List, the organization announced Wednesday morning.
The senior became the first Aggie to win an NCAA Individual Championship last year and was the first player in program history to shoot below 70.00 for a season, recording a blistering 69.94 stroke average during the 2023-24 campaign. The Antibes, France, native ranks No. 8 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and led the team at the Carmel Cup to open the year by taking home a share of sixth.
Cernousek was tabbed as a Preseason First Team All-American by Golf Channel and Golfweek earlier this week. The Aggies were also ranked No. 9 in the country by Golfweek to start the year.
The Maroon & White is led by fourth-year head coach Gerrod Chadwell who has transformed the Texas A&M women’s golf program since his appointment before the 2021-22 season. Chadwell has taken the Maroon & White to three straight appearances in match play at NCAAs, including semifinal runs in 2022 and 2023. He also guided the Aggies to the 2023 SEC Championship and an appearance in the championship match in 2024.
