Local DWI Arrests Follows Hit And Run Crashes

College Station police find a man wanted for causing a hit and run crash in a creek at Merry Oaks Park. The CSPD arrest report says two trucks and a trailer were damaged by the collision last Friday night (August 23) on Harvey Road near Munson. After the driver failed field sobriety tests, 38 year old Brian Abbott of College Station was arrested for DWI with two prior convictions. He was also charged with causing damage to the trucks, unlawful possession of a gun due to being intoxicated, and verbally threatening two officers. Abbott is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $27,000 dollars.

Bryan police arrest a College Station woman for DWI with a breath alcohol sample over three times the legal limit and causing two hit and run collisions. The BPD arrest report says the victim of the second hit and run followed the suspect’s car. The officer who responded was also aware of a disturbance involving the first hit and run. The driver’s breath alcohol samples were .279 and .282. The driver, 62 year old Kathryn Kenefick, was released from jail the day after her arrest last Thursday (August 22) after posting bonds totaling $6,000 thousand dollars.
