Texas A&M Soccer’s Pirro Named to All-American Watch List

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Texas A&M’s Leah Pirro was one of 16 players named to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders to Watch preseason list compiled by the organization’s Division I All-America Committee.

Pirro transferred to Texas A&M in the offseason arriving after two years at Grand Canyon. She earned United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region Second Team and All-WAC First Team for her performance last season. She ranked ninth in the nation with 13 assists and added two goals in 23 matches. She helped the Lopes to a 14-5-4 record, WAC tournament title and a bid to the NCAA Championship.

In 2022, Pirro played 20 games at GCU with 19 starts. She notched 13 points on four goals and five assists to earn All-WAC Second Team.

Pirro started her collegiate career at San Diego, earning All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention for the Toreros during the elongated 2020-21 Covid campaign.

The Simi Valley, California, native, who did not see action in 2021, arrives in Aggieland with two years of eligibility. Pirro has amassed 51 collegiate caps with 49 starts in her three seasons. She owns 30 career points on six goals and 18 assists.

The Aggies travel to SMU for a 7 p.m. exhibition match Thursday. The Maroon & White open the regular-season Thursday, Aug. 15 at Lamar and host Denver for the season home opener Wednesday, Aug. 21
