City of Bryan Update On The Infomaniacs Includes An Upcoming Retirement

The city of Bryan’s City Secretary, Mary Lynne Stratta, visited with WTAW’s Scott DeLucia about recruiting for boards, committees, and commissions.

At the end of the visit, Stratta announced she will be retiring August 22nd after 34 years with the city, all in that position.

Stratta also said taking over the position is deputy city secretary Melissa Brunner. Stratta says Brunner has 25 years in the profession and was assistant in the Fort Worth city secretary’s office before moving to Bryan in May 2023.

According to the city of Bryan website, Stratta has also served as the city’s legislative director and has been responsible for operating municipal court, the city marshal’s office, council services, communications and marketing, and neighborhood and youth services.

That is in addition to responsibilities spelled out by state law that includes elections and birth and death records.
