Texas A&M Women’s Tennis Lands Six ITA Scholar-Athletes

TEMPE, Ariz. – Six members of the Texas A&M women’s tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction, while the program garnered ITA All-Academic Team honors, the organization announced Monday.

Teams with a 3.2 GPA for the year earned ITA All-Academic Team distinction while student-athletes who posted a 3.5 GPA for the year were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The 2024 NCAA champion Aggie women’s tennis team boasted a 3.371 cumulative GPA throughout the 2023-24 academic year, while six individuals on the squad claimed individual honors.

Juniors Mary Stoiana and Kayal Gownder highlighted the group, as both women held 4.0 GPA’s. Sydney Fitch (3.9), Lizanne Boyer (3.875), Elise Robbins (3.72) and Avery Esquivel (3.5) rounded out the six members of the team who earned scholar-athlete status.
