A vacant strip center in Bryan is being redeveloped with financial assistance from the Bryan city council.

During the council’s June 18th meeting, approval was given to reimburse new property owners up to $100,000 dollars in remodeling.

Part of the former Wee Village center at East 29th and Stillmeadow will become a women’s fitness center that is losing its present location.

The new owners will be spending at least $200,000 dollars towards a new roof and shingles, repairing and replacing exterior panels and siding, and replacing exterior signs.

The plans also include a mural on the south side to welcome motorists driving 29th Street from College Station.
