A Bryan woman is arrested for the second time in six months on a theft charge.

On Monday (June 24), 48 year old Laura Rivera-Lopez was booked in the Brazos County jail on a warrant accusing her of breaking into a home on June 13th.

The arrest report from Bryan police says Lopez broke into a home that she had been cleaning from time to time and took $800 dollars that was meant for the employees of the victim’s moving business.

The arrest report also had a summary of Lopez’s statement to an officer, in which she apologized for climbing through a window to enter the home and that she spent the money she stole to pay rent.

When Lopez was found on Monday, she was also charged with possessing crack cocaine.

At the time of Monday’s arrest, Lopez was out on bond from an arrest in January accusing her of theft with two or more prior convictions.

She remains jailed as of Wednesday (June 26) in lieu of bonds totaling $45,000 dollars.

Online records shows this is the 23rd time Lopez has been booked in the Brazos County jail since April of 2009 and that she has been sentenced twice for felony theft.
