Multiple times this year, phone lines to the College Station police department’s non emergency number have gone down.

That led city councilwoman Elizabeth Cunha to ask city manager Bryan Woods for an explanation at the end of Monday night’s (May 13) meeting.

Woods says it is an issue with Frontier Communications, which provides the phone system’s infrastructure.

Woods also said that Monday was the first time that callers could not reach 9-1-1. The manager said College Station is working with the other partners in Brazos County’s 9-1-1 service to resolve issues.
