Blinn College trustees set tuition and fees for the 2024-25 academic year.
Chief financial officer Clen Burton said increasing tuition one dollar per credit hour and fees by three dollars per credit hour for all students will generate $1.4 million dollars.
Dr. Burton also mentioned Blinn will be receiving $6 million dollars in new revenue from the state during the next academic year.
Trustees were also reminded that of the 50 community colleges in Texas, Texas is most dependent on tuition and fees and generates the least amount of property tax revenue.
The trustees vote also established housing and meal prices at Blinn’s campus in Brenham.
A Blinn news release says according to data from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), Blinn’s 2023-24 tuition and fee rates saved students approximately 39.4% compared to the average state university.
