A&M Women’s Golf Begins Bryan Regional

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M women’s golf team is set to begin the Bryan Regional May 6-8 at its home course of Traditions Club in hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships for the third-consecutive season.

The Aggies and head coach Gerrod Chadwell will host an NCAA regional for the third time in program history (2006, 2016). The field will play 54 holes of stroke play over three rounds of golf and the top-five teams will advance to NCAAs at the conclusion of competition on Wednesday. Admission is free to the public.

The Aggies have finished runner-up in three-straight tournaments heading into the regional. They are led by All-SEC First Team selection Adela Cernousek who is boasting a 70.11 stroke average and was just named to be a participant in the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup.

Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio also leads the way for the Maroon & White and garnered All-SEC Second Team honors this season. The freshman tied for eighth at the 2024 SEC Championships and went 3-0 in match play.

Joining Cernousek and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio are Zoe Slaughter, Jennie Park and Blanca Fernández García-Poggio. Four of the starters have been mainstays in the Aggie lineup for the past three seasons where they have advanced to two NCAA semifinals and won the 2023 SEC Championship. Sky Sudberry will serve as the alternate for the team.
