BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M track & field team splits travel as it heads to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the Corky/Crofoot Shootout in Lubbock, Texas, April 25-27.
For the fourth-straight week, both the Texas A&M men’s and women’s squads are ranked top-three in the nation. The men remain as the No. 1 team in the country and have done so since the first rankings were released five weeks ago. The women continue to rank in the top-three for the fourth-consecutive week, as they land at No. 3. The Aggies are one of only two schools with both programs ranking in the top-three.
A&M closed its home meet slate last time out and picked up 17 events wins at the Alumni Muster meet. Six of the wins came in the field through Carlie Weiser (shot put, discus), Jack Mann III (pole vault), Sevanna Hanson (pole vault), McKenzie Fairchild (javelin) and Julian Stoicoviciu (javelin). On the track, Texas A&M secured 11 titles, as Jaiya Covington (100m hurdles), Connor Schulman (110m hurdles), Cutler Zamzow (200m), Kirk Collins, Jr. (400m hurdles), Kimar Farquharson (800m), Victor Kibiego (1500m), Emma Little (3,000m steeplechase), Jonathan Chung (3,000m steeplechase), men’s 4x100m relay, women’s 4x400m relay and men’s 4x400m relay topped the field.
Penn Relays
The Maroon & White head to one of the most prestigious events on the calendar in the Penn Relays. The three-day event begins Thursday and runs through Saturday. The Aggies attended the meet last season and senior Jermaisha Arnold was named the outstanding athlete of the Penn Relays college women’s category.
The field is set with 100 division I schools and over another 50 other colleges across varying divisions and levels. The Maroon & White are sending a group of 33 athletes to the meet that will compete across 17 events.

Corky/Crofoot Shootout
The A&M field group and few members of the track team travel to Lubbock to compete at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout, where events run Friday and Saturday. The Aggies will have 31 athletes in attendance and are set to compete in 19 events.
The team includes four athletes who lead the SEC in their respective events including Carter Bajoit (high jump), Lamara Distin (high jump), Heather Abadie (pole vault) and Timara Chapman (heptathlon).
