Brazos County Commissioners Approve A Sheriff’s Office Request To Pay A Recruiting Company To Fill Open Detention Positions

The recruitment of employees for the Brazos County jail now involves an outside company.

That’s after county commissioners approve a request from the sheriff’s office to spend $20,000 dollars with a Florida based recruiting company.

Commissioner Nancy Berry said the 60 day contract did not guarantee any responses or hires.

The sheriff’s office chief deputy for corrections, Kevin Stuart, said multiple counties in Texas has had success with their recruitment campaigns.

Commissioner Steve Aldrich added that Midland County had success with this company.

The contract says the Florida based company will develop strategies to recruit potential applicants from Brazos County, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and military bases throughout Texas.
