Bryan And College Station ISD School Boards Discuss Safety And Security Behind Closed Doors

The latest meetings of the Bryan and College Station ISD school boards included discussion of safety and security behind closed doors.

The agenda for Tuesday night’s (July 25) Bryan ISD special board meeting included “Discussion Regarding Deployment of Security Personnel” in executive session. No statements by board members or administrators were said before or returning from executive session.

The agenda for the Bryan ISD board’s July 17th meeting included a report from their safety and security committee. Board member Leo Gonzalez said they “covered some new safety devices”, adding “we shouldn’t go into much detail” but they are “extremely effective and cost effective”. Gonzalez also brought up the glass installation at the new Sadberry intermediate school, which he said “is the bane of my existence”, and got clarification that it is reinforced glass and thinks “it will be great for everyone and the glass is a great feature for those children and I do feel better that it is a barrier.” Gonzalez also said there is uncertainty about details of the state requirements of additional officers.
