Grimes County Man Charged With Five Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance
Grimes County Sheriff’s Office released details today about an arrest from over the weekend. Deputies responded to Shiflett Lane in Bedias around 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon in regards to a motorcycle that had been stolen in Brazos County. Through the course of the investigation, they learned that the suspect was 36-year-old Mitchell John Zografos of Bedias. After a brief pursuit, Zografos ditched the motorcycle and fled on foot. He was spotted on FM 1696 West and arrested. He was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of evading arrest.
Bryan Man Lands in Brazos County Jail for 16th Time
A frequent flyer at the Brazos County Jail is making his 16th visit. 39-year-old Charlie James Manley, Jr. was arrested just before midnight on Sunday. Arrest records say Manley was riding his bicycle in the 200 block of Regent Avenue in Bryan without a reflector or headlight. When officers ask Manley to stop, he continued to ride for several blocks and told officers he was not going to stop. Officers began a foot pursuit and after catching up to the suspect, he wrapped his arms around one of the officer’s necks. During the struggle, a firearm was located in the man’s pocket. After he was arrested, a folding knife was also found on the man, as well as K-2…synthetic marijuana. Manley was charged with Assault of Peace Officer ($20,000.00 bond), Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon ($15,000.00 bond), Unlawful Carrying of Weapon ($5,000.00 bond), Evading Arrest ($6,000.00 bond), Resisting Arrest Search or Transport ($6,000.00 bond), Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 2 A< 2oz ($3,000.00 bond), and Failure to Identify ($350.00 bond). He is being held on $55,350.00 bond. His previous charges include several charges for possession of a controlled substance, multiple arrests for family violence assault causing bodily injury, plus criminal mischief, reckless driving, driving with an invalid license, and failure to identify.
Man Arrested for DWI Remains Jailed on ICE Detainer
A man from Hearne found himself behind bars after a traffic stop Monday night. Reports from Bryan Police say they saw a vehicle swerving in the 2100 block of S. Texas Ave. When they pulled over the vehicle, the driver was initially unresponsive, with the car in drive and his foot on the brake pedal. Officers made entry to the vehicle to put it into park and noticed a cold to the touch beer in the center console. When 46-year-old Jose Arnulfo Tzunun Bulux came to, they say he seemed surprised and unsure of where he was. The man says he driving home from a quinceanera in College Station where he had only one beer over two hours. Officers performed a field sobriety test, which he failed. Breathalyzer tests showed that Bulux had an alcohol concentration level in excess of 0.15. He was booked for Driving While Intoxicated BAC > 0.15 and taken to the Brazos County Jail. He remains behind bars on an immigration hold from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
