AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ The image of a cowboy on a horse is featured on a new Texas vehicle inspection sticker.
The Department of Public Safety on Monday revealed the first of the updated stickers, which went into use Aug. 1.
DPS says a variety of stickers will be used, with a cowboy theme and easily identifiable as being from Texas, over several months.
Texas uses 10 inspection certificate designs, dependent upon factors including age of the vehicle, its commercial designation and whether emissions testing is required.
Inspection stickers prior to Aug. 1 are valid until their listed expiration date.
