Suddenlink & Viacom Reach Agreement

Suddenlink cable customers had all their channels during the first weekend of 2011.

That’s because there was an agreement New Year’s Eve with Viacom, the parent company of MTV, Spike, and Nick at Nite among other channels.

Neither company disclosed the final settlement.

Suddenlink says Viacom wanted a rate increase of over 20 percent and pay for a new channel with R-rated programming.

Suddenlink says any price increases will not be passed on to its customers.
