That’s after a judge agreed to the district attorney’s office request to raise bonds from $189,000 to $205,000 dollars.
19 year old Jeremiah McGruder is accused of driving under the influence of marijuana last May when his vehicle struck a pedestrian.
He is also charged with two vehicle burglaries, two weapons cases, evading arrest, and multiple drug charges.
McGruder is also being held on a $100,000 dollar bond on a Harris County charge of armed robbery.
An ongoing dispute between two Bryan women about the same ex-boyfriend resulted in gunfire Monday night (August 5) that killed one of the women and put the other woman in jail. That’s according to the Bryan police arrest report of 22 year old Dequajna Johnson on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the death of 22 year old Keianna Hines. The arrest report also said there was police involvement in what was only described as a previous incident between the two women on June 24th. Johnson, who is jailed in lieu of a $200,000 dollar bond, is awaiting trial on a charge of threatening a man with a gun at a College Station apartment pool in June of 2023. And she is accused of violating probation related to a misdemeanor theft that took place in December 2019.
College Station police respond to a call from a convenience store employee about a car that blocked several parking spaces for two and a half hours. That led to the arrests of the driver and passenger on multiple charges. The driver, 24 year old Cody Polanco of Katy and the passenger, 33 year old Tarah Hill, went to jail after officers found 19 credit or debit cards that did not belong to them, along with possessing methamphetamine and marijuana in a drug free zone. Both are also being held on warrants from Harris County. Bonds on the CSPD charges against Hill totals $32,000 dollars. Bonds on the CSPD charges against Polanco, which includes giving a fake name, totals $42,000 dollars.
Brazos County commissioners award a construction contract to rebuild portions of two roads in the Nantucket subdivision south of College Station. Purchasing agent Charles Wendt additional time was taken on this contract, because the county was able to save $800,000 dollars and reduce the construction time by 45 days. The $3 million dollar contract to rebuild Harpers Ferry Road and Cricket Pass is supposed to take about seven months, weather permitting.
