Two Women Arrested By College Station Police On Child Crime Charges

A College Station mother was arrested Tuesday night after telling College Station police she grabbed her 14 year old daughter by the shoulders, pinched her ears, and forcefully pulled her hair. According to the CSPD arrest report, that is after the daughter said she was kicked out of the house, walked about a mile to the Towerpoint H-E-B store, and after hours got the attention of a store employee who let the teen borrow their phone to call police. The mother told officers she and her daughter got into a verbal altercation because she wanted the passwords to the daughter’s social media accounts. 39 year old Lindsey Wentzel, who was arrested on a charge of injury to a child, is out of jail after posting a $12,000 dollar bond. The arrest report did not state where the teen was living after her mother was arrested.

A Bryan woman facing prison time for violating probation from convictions of child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance was arrested earlier this month on new charges of child endangerment and possessing methamphetamine. That’s after College Station police responded to a welfare concern at the H-E-B on Texas. According to the CSPD arrest report, 33 year old Kendra Sweat-Johnson was not able to stand still as she was holding a young child. Officers found methamphetamine inside a backpack. Johnson is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $10,000 dollars. The arrest report did not indicate what happened to the child when Johnson went to jail. According to online records, Johnson is scheduled to appear in district court January 19th on probation violation charges that failing to complete a parenting skills program, failing to perform community service, and failing to submit to drug and alcohol testing five times.
