Surveillance Video Leads Bryan Police To Arrest Two Men On Charges Of Stealing Copper From BTU Property

Two Bryan men were seen on surveillance video Friday night taking $5,000 dollars of copper from BTU property.

Five Bryan police officers responded to BTU’s Atkins power plant. One of the officers found and stopped the suspect’s SUV on Fountain Drive.

38 year old Beldon Sprouse Jr. and 22 year old Andrew Hellner were charged with burglary and the theft.

Sprouse, who was also charged with driving with an invalid license, evading arrest, and possessing methamphetamine, remained in jail Monday morning in lieu of bonds totaling $25,000 dollars.

Hellner, who was also arrested on a Robertson County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance, remained in jail Monday morning in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000 dollars.
