Aledmys Diaz singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th and the Houston Astros pulled away from the Kansas City Royals Thursday afternoon, 6-3.
The victory was big in more ways than one for Houston, who avoided a series sweep and snapped a four-game losing skid.
The ‘Stros also remain 2.5 games ahead of Oakland for first place in the Al West.
They’ll return home Friday night to host the Seattle Mariners.
First-pitch is at 7:10 p.m. at Minute Maid Park with broadcast on Zone 1150 AM & 93.7 FM.
