One Man’s Eighth Arrest In 15 Months And Another Man’s Third Arrest In Three Weeks

A College Station police officer smelled burnt food outside an apartment Sunday afternoon. Officers and and College Station firefighters had responded to a report of a smoke detector going off. After several knocks, the door was opened and smoke rolled out of the apartment. A firefighter told an officer he saw marijuana and smoking paraphernalia. That led PD to getting a search warrant. That was followed by finding what the arrest report indicated was cocaine and oxycodone along with the marijuana. 18 year old Jeremiah McGruder was arrested on the drug charges. He is held in lieu of bonds totaling $104,000 dollars. According to online records, this was the eighth time McGruder has gone to jail in the last 15 months. And he is awaiting six trials in Brazos County courts on charges dating back to February of last year.

A Bryan man remains in the Brazos County jail, six days after his third arrest in the last three weeks. 37 year old Randy Clayton Jr. told College Station police…according to the CSPD arrest report…that he left the scene after backing his SUV into his ex-girlfriend’s car because he did not want to escalate an argument with the ex. Clayton also said he thought he was in drive and not reverse. A witness told officers the SUV struck the car twice. And officers found the SUV with front end damage and a tire worn down to the wire tread. According to online records, Clayton was arrested April 28th for possession of a controlled substance and April 22nd for driving without a valid license. He is awaiting trial on the license charge and a trial on a felony charge of family violence assault from March of 2019. Bonds from Clayton’s last arrest total $17,000 dollars.
