It’s been nine weeks since Brazos County commissioners were told that a jail inmate tested positive for coronavirus.
During the commission’s last meeting, commissioner Nancy Berry told sheriff Wayne Dicky “I want to commend you on the no COVID in the jail population. That’s remarkable and we appreciate it.”
Dicky replied he wanted “to take the opportunity to thank the folks who work over in the jail. They’ve developed a plan that effectively isolates people on arrival. We’re booking 30 or 40 people a day and they’re able isolate those folks for a period of time to make sure that we keep that number at zero. So they’re doing a great job.”
The last time commissioners were told about an inmate testing positive was February 23rd, according to minutes from county commission meetings.
