Qualifying fifth through 12th grade Bryan ISD students may have the option next school year of taking virtual classes.
Superintendent Christie Whitbeck reported at the last BISD school board meeting about an online survey that anyone in the district can complete about what they think about the possible virtual academy.
Virtual students, who would qualify based on their attendance history and who have shown proficiency in academics, would also have the option of participating in extracurricular activities.
Dr. Whitbeck says details about the academy are dependent on the amount of state funding BISD would receive.
