A Bryan man remains in jail following his arrest from the weekend before last on a charge of stealing a car at knife point during what the victim thought was to be the sale of the car. According to the arrest report from the Brazos County sheriff’s office, the transaction began at Tanglewood Park in Bryan. When the seller agreed to let the buyer take a test drive, the eight mile trip ended on Deer Creek Drive, off Highway 30 east of Hardy Weedon Road. That’s when the buyer got out a six inch kitchen knife with a serrated edge and put the knife against the victim’s chest. The buyer, who drove away with the seller’s extra set of keys and his cell phone was found in Bryan by a sheriff’s deputy and an investigator. 19 year old Shane Prince told them he pulled the knife and stole the car after he panicked. Prince was in jail Wednesday in lieu of a $12,000 dollar bond following his arrest for aggravated robbery.

An off duty DPS trooper shopping inside the Bryan Lowe’s store Tuesday night told Bryan police he dealt with a man who was acting erratically and threatening to shoot people with a cell phone. According to the BPD arrest report, a BPD officer followed the men into the Walmart pharmacy entrance. The off duty trooper, who was wearing a necklace with his badge, told the BPD officer the other man was screaming racial slurs and stating he had a gun and was going to shoot the store. 29 year old Tyren Hardrick, who was taken to jail on a charge of evading arrest, remains held in lieu of a $4,000 dollar bond following his arrest on a charge of burglary of a building.

For the third time since last October, a College Station man is arrested on a property crime charge. 35 year old James Foster III is accused of breaking into a College Station storage unit and attempting to drive away in a stolen truck pulling a stolen boat. The truck and boat did not leave the business because the truck got stuck in mud. According to the College Station police arrest report, Foster was found with the help of a motel receipt that was found in the truck. Foster, who is awaiting trial on a felony charge of theft with prior convictions, was in jail Wednesday in lieu of a $15,000 dollar bond.

A Bryan woman who told a deputy city marshal she illegally parked in a handicapped space outside municipal court because she was in a hurry, ended up being arrested on six drug charges. According to the deputy marshal’s arrest report, he smelled marijuana coming out of the car. A search led to discovering a bag of cocaine that the woman said she bought for someone else and several small plastic bags of narcotics and marijuana that she said was hers. 40 year old Josephine Silva is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $22,000 dollars, following her arrest on three counts of possessing drugs, three counts of having drug paraphernalia, and parking in the handicapped space without a placard.
